Local artisans are presenting some of the regions most beautiful, creative, fun and even practical crafts at the etsyRAIN Handmade Craft Show May 7 at Intiman Theatre.

Stop in for a last minute Mother's Day surprise, or bring Mom along for a special shopping fest the day before the big day. You'll feel great about supporting local artisans with truly "made in Washington" goods, finding one-of-kind items, and thinking outside the box for Mom. And if you feel you haven't had enough, you can still shower mom with shrimp cocktail at one of the many Mother's Day brunches around town, just make sure she's adorned with her new etsyRAIN baubles.

My Wire Wrapped,Carved Bone Bracelet featured in a Treasury created by LishasWorkshop made it to the front pate on Etsy! A Treasury is a selected group of items the author pulls as favorites offered by various Etsy sellers. As viewers to the Etsy site see the Treasuries and click on the items and comment on the treasury, the treasury rises up higher in the ranks of the Treasuries posted. The more clicks and comments, the higher it goes. My bracelet made it to page one. Pretty exciting stuff in the world of Etsy features. Thanks so much to LishasWorkshop!

I won a Design Contest based in England!

I am so excited! I entered a contest for the first time, happened to be one sponsored by a company in England and won first place! I had a custom order for my Millefiori Bead Bouquet in pink and this company was the only one I could find that sold pink millefiori beads. I saw that they were running a contest to see what people were making with products that they sold and was delighted by their notice today. I am celebrating!

They did mess my last name up pretty badly, but I have asked them to fix it.Oh well.

Run Your Hands Through a Bowl Full of Charms

I have been adding inventory on a regular basis to my newer Charms supply site at http://www.CharmsBowl.etsy.com for the past few months. It takes a lot of time to photo, price, describe, tag and list every new item and it can be a time vacuum. Fortunately the charms seem to appeal to the jewelry makers and collectors out there. It is a lot of fun to source charms for special requests, and to look for the most unusual charms I can find. My favorites are the retro charms which are packed with nostalgia and travel charms. I have been trying to offer them at the lowest prices possible and am amazed at what high prices other sites charge for their sterling silver charms. It is funny because I source some of my charms from abroad and then turn around and sell them internationally,sometimes to the very country I bought them from!
Come and visit, see what I am talking about. Run your hands through a bowl full of charms.
Ok I get some flack on that, it is hard to do long distance, but that is one of my favorite tactile experiences, to let beads or beans, or charms flow through my hands. yumm.
